Chibnall To Step Down After Series 13
The Doctor Who rumour mill is buzzing again this time with the latest rumour stating that current showrunner Chris Chibnall will be stepping down as the series showrunner at the end of series 13 despite reports suggesting otherwise.
Apparently the BBC have already found Chibnall’s replacement in the form of Pete McTighe (he penned the episode “Kerblam!” and was cowriter with Chibnall on the episode “Praexus”) who will be taking over as showrunner with series 14.
The announcement of McTighe’s appointment is currently due to be made in the spring, around the time that McTighe’s new BBC drama The Pact airs.
Additional to this, as previously rumoured, Jodie Whittaker, Jodie will be leaving the series at the end of series 13. With the rumours flying around regarding Chibnall’s replacement it is rumoured that the BBC are seeking to have a non-Caucasian male take on the role of the fourteenth Doctor.
As we have said, this is purely rumour at this point, but we’d be interested in hearing what you think about this
